Medgar Evers Library
In collaboration with the National Park Service Rangers at the Medgar and Myrlie Evers Home National Monument as well as the theater department at Jackson State University we intend to put on this fashion show/ presentation. Volunteers shall dress in the fashions of the 1950’s and 1960’s to present in dramatic style stories about Medgar and Myrlie Evers during those time periods. Episodes from the shared lives of Medgar and Myrlie Evers shall be narrated to the audience during the fashion show. Visual representations of real stories from the lives of this iconic African American couple will fit with the themes of both Valentines Day and Black History Month. The goal is informative fun and engagement for all ages.
