Yes, we take credit card payments for any balance that you might have on your library account. We accept all major credit cards through this website payment option.

Welcome to the Jackson Hinds Library System!

The Jackson Hinds Library System is a dual city-county library system funded jointly by the City of Jackson and the Hinds County Board of Supervisors. If you have a photo ID and live in Hinds County, you are eligible to receive a free library card during regular library hours with photo ID. Stop by one of our convenient 14 branches to sign up for yours today. Non-resident cards are available for $25.00 a year for an individual account or $50.00 a year for a family account.

New Library Hours for Select Locations

Beginning Tuesday, May 1st, 2018
New libraries hours are available for the following areas: Evelyn Taylor Majure Library (Utica), Ella Bess Austin Library (Terry), Annie Thompson Jeffers Library (Bolton) and the Lois A. Flagg Library (Edwards).

Monday through Thursday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Friday: CLOSED
Saturday: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM


Free Computer Classes
June 30, 2018 | New Library Technology

Come join the classes at Eudora Welty. Classes include: Basic Computer Skills, Intermediate Computer Skills, Keyboarding, and Microsoft Office courses such as PowerPoint and Excel.

Library card holders must have all library fines & fees charged to their card paid by Tuesday, January 1, 2019 to qualify for the normal three hour computer use time period (two 90 minute sessions a day).
Customers with unresolved balances will still qualify for a guest pass of 60 minutes (30 minutes twice a day).
Fines may be paid in small amounts over the course of the coming year.

The Fourth Wednesday of Every Month (excluding June and December) at 4:00 PM

The Board of Trustees Meeting are typically held at 4:00 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of every month, in the Ellen Douglas Meeting Room. Meetings are open to the public. Public comments are limited to two minutes each at the end of the meeting. Meetings in March, April and May were held at the Welty Library.

There will be no meeting during the month of June.
