Our online eBook and audiobook collections are available to serve you any time day or night. Over a thousand eBooks and a growing number of audiobooks are easily available and downloadable with a current JHLS library card and PIN.

Yes, we take credit card payments for any balance that you might have on your library account. We accept all major credit cards through this website payment option.

• Wireless Printing for Laptops

All of our 15 library branches offer wireless printing services for laptop computer users.

Welcome to the Jackson Hinds Library System!

Wherever you go in the City of Jackson or within Hinds County, one of our 14 libraries is right on your way. Library cards are free to anyone with proof of residency in Hinds County. Don't live in Hinds County? You can still get a library card by paying $25.00 a year for an individual card or $50.00 for a family card. Library services are provided by the Hinds County Board of Supervisors and the City of Jackson.

Our very popular e-book, downloadable audio books and digital magazine collections are available 24/7 via the internet. Want to check out books in your bunny slippers? Stop by any of our 14 branches for a library card and PIN.

What's New at the Jackson Hinds Library System?

The All New Fine-Free Kid

The Jackson Hinds Library System has a new Fine-Free Card that can limit the amount of out-of-pocket expenses that your family might have compared to a regular child library card.

This new Fine-Free Kid's Card will be available starting Wednesday, August 1st, 2018, at both the Medgar Evers Library and the Richard Wright Library.

Our 2018 Summer Reading Program celebrated music of all kinds with programs for all ages. From drum circles to dance to live music performances, there was something for everyone this summer.

The Library Board of Trustees does not meet in June or December. Their next meeting will take place on July 25th at the Willie Morris branch at 4:00 PM in the library meeting room.
