Facilities Manager RFP (Multiple Branches)

Circulation Assistant - Full Time (M.W. Alexander Library)
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Branch Manager, a Circulation Assistant provides customer service to patrons and performs procedures related to the circulation of materials. This includes but is not limited to:
- Charging and discharging library materials to patrons using the Library System’s automated circulation system
- Assisting patrons with using the computers, copier, and fax machine
- Placing materials on hold
- Helping patrons find the information they seek
- Explaining and implementing library policies and procedures
Additional duties may include aiding with community outreach and promoting library programs.
Hours
This is a full-time (40 hours weekly) position scheduled based on the operational needs of the branch and library system.
Salary and Benefits
The salary is $26,000 annually with a full benefits package that includes health and life insurance, vision and dental insurance, and membership in the Mississippi Public Employees’ Retirement System.

Shelver - Part Time (Multiple Branches)
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, a shelver places books and other library materials in their rightful place. The shelving process includes:
- Sorting the materials by call number on the carts prior to placing them on the shelves
- Checking each item in a particular section to ensure it is in call number order
- Straightening and leveling materials by pulling each item to the edge of the shelf in a straight line
Additional duties may include answering the phone, assisting patrons with finding materials, and light clerical duties at the circulation desk.
Hours
This is a part-time position and hours are scheduled based on the operational needs of the branch. Biweekly hours are not to exceed 34 within the hours of operation of the Jackson Hinds Library System

$11.00 hourly
