Jackson/Hinds Library System Announces New Evening Hours in 2025

JACKSON, MS December 11, 2024 – The Jackson/Hinds Library System is excited to announce new extended evening hours for the following selected libraries: Margaret Walker Alexander, Medgar Evers, Quisenberry, and Willie Morris. In response to community feedback and the growing demand for accessible library services, the new hours will be from 10 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday hours will remain from 9 AM to 5 PM. The updated hours of operation are effective on January 6, 2025.

“We understand the importance of providing our community with flexible access to library resources,” said Morgan Hedglin, Interim Director of the Jackson/Hinds Library System. “By extending our evening hours, we aim to better serve our patrons, allowing more individuals to take advantage of our programs, services, and collections.”

The extended hours will apply only to the selected libraries within the Jackson Hinds Library System, making it easier for residents to visit after work or school. This initiative reflects the library’s commitment to fostering a love for reading, digital life, and community engagement. We look forward to the New Year welcoming our community during these new hours and continuing to provide valuable resources and services to all.
