James Jones, MLIS
On July 25 at 2:30pm, the Jackson Hinds Library System will host James Jones for a one hour collection development power hour. Mr. Jones currently serves as the collection manager for the Broward County Libraries Division in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. Mr. Jones directs collection management for a capacity for a $9 million dollar annual collection development budget in support of 37 highly diverse libraries in Broward County where the system supports 10 million in annual book circulation.
Mr. Jones will discuss current trends in library physical and digital collections. There will also be discussion on library assessment and projected use for AI and ML for data driven collection management and assessment. (Collection HQ) Join us at the Quinsenberry Library for an hour of collection development talk. Executive Director, Floyd Council, Deputy Director, Morgan Hedglin, and Director of Technical Services, Miao Jin will engage a short interactive panel discussion on current trends in collection development with Q&A. The presentation is open to all library collection workers, librarians, and students in Mississippi.
