The schedule for computer classes in March is now available. All classes meet for one hour, twice a week, for three weeks at Eudora Welty Library. Phone calls are the only option for registering for classes. The number to register for classes is 601-968-5820.
Mondays and Wednesdays beginning March 2:
- Basic Computer Skills, 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Would you like to learn how to use a computer? By the end of this class you will learn how to give commands to a computer using a mouse and keyboard, be familiar with common computer vocabulary, and be able perform a simple internet search.
- Intermediate Computer Skills, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Do you know the basics of a computer but want to know more? By the end of this class you will know how to find information that is stored on a computer, access information on a flash drive, and learn how to upload and download information using the internet. To participate in this class students must be able to use a computer mouse, have an email address, and have a basic knowledge of how to interact with a computer.
- Introduction to Microsoft Excel, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: This class will help you feel comfortable interacting with Microsoft Excel to organize and access information using spreadsheets. By the end of this class you will know how to create and edit a Microsoft Excel worksheet as well as use complex formulas and basic functions. To participate in this class students must be able to use a computer mouse, have an email address, and have a basic knowledge of how to interact with a computer.
Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning March 3:
- Google Tools, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Learn how to use manage your info, privacy, and security, use Google resources for productivity, understand collaborating using Google Drive, and other exciting things included with a Google Account. By the end of this class you will know how to manage a Google account settings, use Google Drive, and utilize productivity features of Google. To participate in this class students must be able to use a computer mouse, have an email address, and have a basic knowledge of how to interact with a computer.
- Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: This class will help you become familiar with the editing features of Microsoft PowerPoint to create stunning presentations. By the end of this class you will know how to create a PowerPoint presentation. To participate in this class students must be able to use a computer mouse, have an email address, and have a basic knowledge of how to interact with a computer.
