In this time of uncertainty, especially since Gov. Tate Reeves has mandated that all Mississippi schools will remain closed through April 17, 2020, we now have a resource page of curated online educational websites for young students. These websites offer lessons, games, quizzes and other activities for free. The page also includes learning resource links for adults who want to take advantage of their time off with self-directed study. The list of links is available at jhlibrary.org/edresources. Feel free to bookmark or print the page for future reference.
We also would like to remind the public that patrons who have an active library card with JHLS can take advantage of distance learning via Universal Class. Universal Class is a course-based learning system with topics from computer software to dog grooming, forensic science, customer service, etc. If someone is stuck at home, this is a great option for learning skills and earning CEU credits. Read more and access the service at jhlibrary.org/universalclass.
