Emergency Research Database Options for JHLS Patrons During COVID-19 Closure Read More

ATTENTION: Due to the current coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, if you are ill and are coughing, sneezing or running a fever, please do not visit the library. This is for the protection of our staff and patrons. We look forward to seeing you again when you are well. Thanks.

Since our libraries are open to the public, it would be natural for concern to increase about visiting them due to the recent news coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic caused by the coronavirus. However, the best way to handle that concern is with reliable sources.

Here are our recommendations on where to get trusted information on the coronavirus and COVID-19:

Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH):
Mississippi Coronavirus Hotline (now available 24/7): 877-978-6453

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

The National Institutes of Health (NIH):

You are welcome to download and share this handy guide from the CDC on how to present the spread of COVID-19. Click on the image and right-click to save, or open the PDF and download from your browser.

It’s also good to know that prior to the outbreak, JHLS staff had already sanitizing our public computers, desks, tables, etc. during closing time at all of our library branches as part of standard procedure. We want to continue to do our part to help keep you safe and healthy.
